In accordance with the Code of Ethics, the appearance of a civil servant in the performance of his official duties should contribute to strengthening the authority of the state apparatus, comply with the generally accepted business style, which is distinguished by formality, restraint and accuracy.
The specifics of the civil service impose strict requirements on the appearance of modern civil servants. The appearance of a business person is the first step to success, because for society his appearance serves as a "code" indicating the degree of accuracy.
Business style is characterized by conservatism, rigor and restraint. This applies both to the choice of fabric – the type of color, cut, and accessories. Everything should be clear and defined – shapes, lines and silhouettes. Clothing should not distract attention from the employee's business qualities.
The main principles of business style are:
- minimalism;
- the ability not to stand out;
- look harmoniously in any place where a business
environment reigns – while working in the office, during serious negotiations in the conference room, etc.
The main requirements for clothing are practicality, neatness, convenience and the absence of a defiant appearance. Clothes may differ in some volume, that is, they do not constrain movements, but at the same time allow you to look serious. Depending on the time of year, the clothes can be different in color and the fabrics used in compliance with the requirements of rigor and elegance.
Color solutions in clothing should correspond to the classic business style, excessively bright colors and excessive variegation are excluded. The most suitable colors of the suit and dress are considered light or dark. It is not recommended to use more than three primary colors in clothing at the same time.
It is unacceptable for a civil servant to wear torn or half-torn buttons, a crumpled suit, a stale shirt, a badly tied tie, uncleaned shoes, sports and beach-style clothing and shoes, including denim and leather clothing, shorts, open sundresses, T-shirts, sports sweaters, sneakers.
In winter, it is recommended to use replacement shoes.
The shoes of a civil servant should be classic style shoes (without jewelry), which should be kept clean at all times.
Business style involves a suit consisting of trousers and a jacket or a skirt and a jacket, a three-piece suit consisting of a jacket and a vest and trousers or a skirt.
The range of classic wardrobe is quite diverse.
Women's clothing includes coats, dresses, jackets, cardigans, vests, skirts and trousers, as well as blouses. The assortment of men's clothing includes shirts, trousers of classic style, jackets, vests, suits, etc. The compatibility of all these things is universal, however, strict requirements are imposed on each thing, which allow it to be attributed specifically to the classical style.
Female civil servants are not recommended to wear transparent blouses, through which underwear, deep cleavage, mini–skirts, figure-hugging trousers shine through.
For a business style of clothing, suitably simple and close to natural makeup, it should not attract attention and catch the eye. Lipstick of natural tones is suitable, bright colors are unacceptable. Manicure in a business style can be of any color, the main thing is that the shade is soft and discreet, the hair color is natural.
The business style of civil servants' clothing involves a minimum of accessories and is distinguished by the simplicity of the cut lines, rigor, practicality and minimal finishing.
However, these requirements are recommended
and the final decision should be made by each civil servant independently based on the requirements of the Code of Ethics.
