Kazakhstan launched the armed phase of the joint anti-terrorist exercise of the competent authorities of the CIS member states «Caspian-Anti-Terror - 2021»

On September 2, 2021, as part of the second stage of the joint anti-terrorist exercise of the competent authorities of the CIS member states "Caspian-Antiterror-2021" in the water area of the “Aktau” seaport, an anti-terrorist operation was carried out at marine infrastructure facilities and oil and gas facilities "Drilling Rig" and "Ship".

The work has been demonstrated of the republican operational headquarters for the management of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO), under their leadership the issues of planning, preparing and conducting a special operation to free the "hostages" and neutralize the "terrorists" simultaneously at two objects.

To participate in the special operation, the republican operational headquarters for the management of the anti-terrorist operation attracted the forces of the Special Service "A" and the Border Service of the NSC, the "Berkut" of the National Guard, the "Sunkar" of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the special operations forces of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the Special purpose center of the Federal Security Service of Russia.

According to the plan of the exercise, in order to destabilize the situation in the Republic of Kazakhstan, put pressure on government bodies and make decisions that are beneficial for international terrorist organization, "terrorists" carry out an attack and armed seizure of a drilling rig of an international joint operating company and a passenger ship with another change of oil workers on board.

Taking into account the scale of the terrorist threats, the competent authorities of Kazakhstan are carrying out a set of priority measures, cordoning off and blocking the objects seized by the "terrorists".

The republican operational headquarters for the management of the anti-terrorist operation is starting to work. On alarm, special units of state bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan are raised and sent to the area of terrorist impact. The units responsible for the elimination and minimization of the consequences of a terrorist act are being alerted.
