Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan Continue to Strengthen International Cooperation on Facilitating the Passage of Goods Across the Border

      From August 5 to 7, 2026, a working meeting of representatives of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the International Trade Centre was held in Almaty.

      During the visit, the processes and mechanisms for implementing the «Seamless Transit» pilot project between the two countries were discussed.

      The «Seamless Transit» pilot project provides for the automatic conversion of export and transit declarations of partner countries into advance information, followed by their conversion into a transit declaration to accelerate customs declaration of goods and vehicles in partner countries.

      The implementation of the “Seamless Transit” pilot project will reduce and simplify the passage of goods across the customs border.

       Also, on August 7, 2026, a delegation of the Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited the Altynkol-Zhol customs post of the Department of State Revenues in the Zhetisu Region. During the visit, colleagues from the neighboring country familiarized themselves with the passage of goods across the border, from entry and completion of all procedures, including control by related services, to exit, with a fully automated process and without the participation of officials of the state revenue authorities in the customs declaration of container trains proceeding through transit to third countries along the routes «Altynkol – Brest-Severny», «Altynkol – Saryagash», and «Altynkol – Kuryk».

        The parties agreed to hold consultations on an ongoing basis for the implementation of the “Seamless Transit” pilot project.
