To improve customs administration implementation of the instructions of the Head of State

Today, Finance Minister E.Zhamaubayev visited the Turkestan region and inspected the work of customs posts on the Kazakh-Uzbek border.

During the trip, the Minister met with participants in foreign economic activity and the customs sphere, held a working meeting on the development of foreign trade activities.

In his speech, the Minister noted the dynamic growth of foreign trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, as well as an increase in the volume of transit of goods from Uzbekistan to the EAEU countries.

For reference: the traffic flow at the border has been steadily growing over the past 7 years and has increased more than 10 times.

The volume of trade turnover in 2021 amounted to 3.8 billion US dollars, which is 18% more compared to the previous year.

Before countries there is goal to increase the level of mutual trade to 10 billion US dollars.

The Minister stressed that the transit and transport potential of the region is aimed at accelerating the movement of goods and contributes to strengthening strategic cooperation between the two states.

The Finance Minister stressed that the Head of State has set the task of improving customs administration and increasing additional customs payments and taxes to the budget.

The new Kazakhstan requires a radical improvement in the quality of life of the population and the correct redistribution of national income. In this regard, specific measures will be taken to improve business processes in the work of customs.

In general, he noted that the state creates a comfortable business environment for entrepreneurs engaged in foreign economic activity.The customs infrastructure is being gradually improved, checkpoints are being modernized and accelerated digitalization of procedures and control measures is being carried out.

In April 2021, the modernized checkpoint named after  was put into operation «B.Konysbaev». By the end of 2024, it is planned to modernize the checkpoints «Kaplanbek», «Kazygurt» and «Atameken».
