KAZAKHSTAN AND UZBEKISTAN DISCUSSED ISSUES OF COOPERATION AT THE CUSTOMS BORDER

On December 25, 2021, at the checkpoint "Zhibek-Zholy" (Republic of Kazakhstan) and "Gisht-Kuprik" (Republic of Uzbekistan), a bilateral working meeting was held between the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan Altynbayev A.S. and the Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mavlonov A.Yu.

During the meeting, the following issues were discussed:
- reconstruction and modernization of checkpoints on the Kazakh-Uzbek state border;
- exchange of preliminary information about goods
and vehicles transported in transit across the customs border;
- Customs statistics in mutual trade between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Moreover, the issue of the possibility of exchanging the results (images) of scanning vehicles crossing the customs border was worked out, the practical implementation of the Agreement on Joint Customs Control over the Movement of Energy Resources across the Kazakh-Uzbek customs border was discussed, as well as the development of draft bilateral international treaties.

Following the meeting, a Protocol was signed and appropriate decisions were made.
