
The Karaganda delegation participated in the World Youth Festival, which was held in Sochi, on the federal territory «Sirius».

This year, the festival brought together more than 20,000 people from 191 countries – representatives of science, business, media, international cooperation, culture, volunteerism, charity, and sports.

About 300 delegates from Kazakhstan participated, including eight Karaganda residents.

This is a team of the Faculty of Physics and Technology of the E. A. Buketov Karaganda University - doctoral student Perizat Zhanbirbaeva, undergraduates Dosmukhammad Abeuov, Chingiz Kabylgani, students Serik Tuleuov, Nurdana Abisheva, Almat Mukhamedrahim, head – Professor of the Department of Physics and Nanotechnology Svetlana Karstina.

The Karaganda delegation also included Ilyas Smailov, a methodologist at the Department of Youth Policy of the Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University.

– The program of the World Youth Festival was based on such values as unity, equality, justice, mutual assistance, teamwork and mercy. Each day was devoted to a specific topic – for example, "Multinational unity", "A world of opportunities for everyone", etc., – says Perizat Zhanbirbaeva, a doctoral student at Karaganda Technical University named after E. A. Buketov. – I met interesting people from different countries. I received a lot of new information, learned about teaching methods in Russian universities, scientific work with students, and also got acquainted with the equipment of the departments of physics and nanotechnology.

The delegates also participated in various master classes and listened to lectures.

– I have been active in social activities since I was a student. I liked the festival very much, there were interesting lectures, meetings with celebrities, and acute topics of our society were raised. I got a lot of useful acquaintances and new impressions," said Ilyas Smailov, methodologist at the Department of Youth Policy of the Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University.
