Karaganda region is recognized as the best sports region of Kazakhstan

Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan summed up the results of the year. Karaganda region is recognized as the best sports region of the country, and tennis player Alan Kurmangaliev is the best young athlete.

A special commission, which included not only representatives of the relevant department, but also public figures, evaluated the results of the work carried out in the regions according to several criteria. This includes the development of mass sports, infrastructure, the implementation of new interesting projects and other important areas.

A solemn ceremony "Results of 2022" organized by the Ministry took place in Astana yesterday. And twice representatives of our region took the stage.

The head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports Temirkhan Abylayev to receive an award in the nomination "Best sports region" and Alan Kurmangaliyev as the winner in the nomination "Best athlete of youth and youth composition", who for the first time in the history of Kazakhstan became a world champion and a prize-winner of the Asian Table tennis Championship.

– This year we had a lot of victories and achievements. But there is still a lot of work ahead. Next year is pre-Olympic, where our national teams must win the maximum number of licenses. And of course, the main goal is the Olympics in Paris – 2024. At the main starts of the fourth anniversary, we must show a decent result," Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports Serik Zharasbayev said in his welcoming speech.

– Of course, we are proud of such a high assessment of our work. This is the result of the work and support, first of all, of the akimat of the region. A lot has really been done in 2022, new projects have been implemented in the field of disabled sports. We will try to keep this high bar, especially next year there are a lot of plans for the development of sports in our region," Temirkhan Abylayev said.
