The 150th anniversary of the German artist Heinrich Vogeler will be celebrated in Karaganda

December twelfth marked the 150th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding German anti-fascist artist, poet and public figure Heinrich Vogeler. In honor of the anniversary date, the Karaganda Regional Museum of Fine Arts together with the German Wiedergeburt Society organized a creative evening.

The event will take place on December 21 at the Museum of Art, beginning at 15:00. An exhibition of paintings by Heinrich Vogeler will be presented. His poems and songs will be performed in German. The children's ensemble "Duman Sazy" will perform.

Heinrich Vogeler is known as a bright representative of Art Nouveau. He is one of the founders of the famous colony of German artists Worpswede. He dreamed of high ethical ideals, artistic communication between people. The last tragic period of the artist's life, which fell to his share in deportation, is connected with Kazakhstan. Vogeler was assigned to a settlement in the Korneevka village, Karaganda region, where he died in 1942.

In Karaganda, in 1999, a monument to Heinrich Vogeler was erected in front of the building of the German Cultural Center.
