A plant for the production of cathode copper has been launched in the Karaganda region

Up to 5 thousand tons of copper cathode per year will be produced at a new hydrometallurgical plant in the Aktogay district of the Karaganda region. The company has created 140 jobs.

The plant was under construction for two years.

The company "Irkaz Metal Corporation" LLP has already started its work at the Borly deposit.

Cathode copper is produced using the innovative SX-EW technology (heap leaching – liquid extraction – electrolysis). This hydrometallurgical process has been used in Kazakhstan for the last ten years. It has several important advantages: it does not require large costs for the construction of factories, has a low cost in the production of cathode copper, it is possible to use reserves of poor ores.

The technology used is one of the most environmentally friendly in metallurgy. Allows you to issue products of high purity and quality corresponding to the M00k brand.
