Karaganda ROBLAND returns international status

In Karaganda, preparations are underway for the VII Festival of robotics, programming and innovative technologies ROBLAND-2022.

The competitions will take place on November 4-5 in the "Zhastar" sports complex at the "Miner" stadium.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the festival had to be postponed in 2020.

In 2021, ROBOLAND was held, but without the invitation of foreign teams. This year it regains its international status.

Registration of participants began on September 15 and will end on October 15. According to the organizers, about 200 applications for qualification have already been received. Teams from different parts of Kazakhstan, as well as near and far abroad want to perform at the festival.

"The applications were submitted by teams from Tashkent (Uzbekistan), Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Novokuznetsk (Russia) and the Greek city of Ierapetra (Crete Island)," the organizing committee clarified.

This year the competitions will be held in 16 categories – traditional and new at the festival site. A competition in the creative category "Robotics and children" is dedicated to the Year of Children in Kazakhstan. Teams should present robotics projects related to the world of children and adolescents.

Viewers will be able to see a show with robots.

The program also includes competitions with a national flavor: "Tange alu", Roboland Kazakhstan.

The smallest roboticists, from 4 to 6 years old, compete in the ability to control a robot mouse.

Participants of different ages will compete in technical creativity: from preschoolers to students.

According to the regulations on the festival, the winners of the qualifying competitions, as well as the teams that have passed the qualification selection, will reach the final.

ROBOLAND is the first and largest robotics project in Kazakhstan. The first festival was held in 2015, 30 teams from the Karaganda region and cities of Kazakhstan competed in five nominations. A year later it became international, more than 200 teams from Kazakhstan, Russia and Serbia participated. Every year the festival gained scale. 2018 was a record year: 32 nominations, 1,500 children and teenagers from Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Poland. For the first time, preschoolers competed in the STEAM RobotMouse category. ROBLAND-2021 was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan's Independence, 141 teams from 11 regions of the country participated in the competition.
