In the Karaganda region, about 90 thousand people work in the coal industry. The 75th anniversary of the miner was widely celebrated.
The festive marathon lasted two days. Folk festivals and concerts were held in the regional center and in mining towns and villages. The celebration culminated in volleys of fireworks.
Akim of Karaganda region Zhenis Kassymbek, CEO of ArcelorMittal for CIS Vijay Goyal and CEO of ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC Biju Nair visited the celebrations in Abai, Shakhtinsk and Sarani. They congratulated workers and veterans of the coal industry on Miner's Day.
Tribute was paid to the fallen miners. In Abai, flowers were laid at the memorial, which was erected in memory of the tragedy at the “Abayskaya” mine in November 2021.
There are many labor dynasties in every mining town. Many people came to the celebrations with their families and children.
- Miner's Day is a favorite and special holiday that has absorbed the history and traditions of our region. I want to express my gratitude to everyone who devoted themselves to this courageous profession. The life of each of you can serve as an example of hard work, perseverance and honesty. Your contribution to socio-economic development is invaluable. We are proud of you! I wish all miners health, prosperity and well-being. Let warmth and comfort reign in your homes," Zhenis Kassymbek addressed the heroes of the celebration.
In addition to entertainment, there were treats. A fair of local products was organized in Abai.
The young participants of the theatrical production presented the history of the holiday and the third stoker.
Kazakh pop stars came to congratulate the miners on their professional holiday. The young performer Nurmukhammad Zhakyp, who was loved by many for the hit "The Most-the most", sang for the miners.
The concert tour of the mining towns was also attended by the finalist of the first season of the TV show "Songs" on TNT, Nazima, the dombrist virtuoso Oleg Nikitin, as well as the show group "Kilimanjaro".
Fireworks in honor of the Miner's Day thundered not only in the cities, but also in the Shakhan village.
