An athlete from Karaganda won a gold medal at the World Hand-to-hand combat Championships

The World Hand-to-hand Combat Championship was held in the Turkish city of Bursa. Maria Chebotareva, an employee of the Department of Emergency Situations of the Karaganda region, performed as part of the national team of Kazakhstan. The athlete won a gold medal, demonstrating a high level of training, the will to win and fighting spirit.

400 athletes from 32 countries participated in the World Championship in Turkey. The Kazakh national team took the third place in the team competition. The national team of Uzbekistan is on the first place, and Russia is on the second.

Maria Chebotareva competed in the "zhekpe-zhek" (duel) discipline and defeated her rivals.

"This is a great achievement and a source of pride for our country, as well as for the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Karaganda region. The national team of Kazakhstan showed high results in the team competition, strengthening the country's prestige in the international arena," the Department of Emergency Situations of the region noted.
