
Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov spoke about the work on attracting foreign capital to Kazakhstan at the enlarged Government session.
Alikhan Smailov noted that in accordance with the pre-election program the President of Kazakhstan is working to attract at least $ 150 billion in foreign direct investment over the next 7 years. Thus, in the first half of the year $14.5 billion in direct investment has already been attracted, which is 28% more than in the same period of last year.
"We are working with a nationwide pool of 850 investment projects worth 30 trillion tenge to create 131,000 new jobs. This year 190 projects worth 2 trillion tenge will be commissioned and 18,500 new jobs will be created," he said.
The Prime Minister added that work on the repatriation of a number of foreign companies to Kazakhstan is in progress. To date, 19 companies have already been relocated, the others are being worked out.
