A bilateral meeting of the SAC with representatives of Court of Auditors of Portugal was held

The member of the Supreme Audit Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan Rassul Rakhimov, Chief of Staff Kundyzbek Abdrasilov and Judge of the Court of Auditors of Portugal Maria Da Luz Karmezim Faria discussed issues of improving and increasing the issues  of performance state audit.

The parties noted that the close and fruitful cooperation between the state audit institutions of two countries was significantly strengthened by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding last spring (exchange of knowledge, experience and information).

To date, the Court of Auditors of Portugal also acts as the coordinator of the peer review of the SAC RK. Within the peer review auditors from Lithuania, Portugal and Türkiye, who are in Astana on a working visit, analyze the activities of the Supreme Audit Chamber.

The member of the Supreme Audit Chamber Rassul Rakhimov noted that this event is of great importance for the Supreme Audit Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan, since the reform of the state audit system is currently underway in the Republic. In particular, the powers of the Chamber itself are being significantly expanded.

"We study the best innovative audit methods, strive to follow international standards and systematically improve the skills of our employees. Peer review is of particular value to us on the way to improving the activities of the Supreme Audit Chamber and the state audit system as a whole," Rassul Rakhimov said.

In turn, Maria Da Luz Karmezim Faria spoke about how the state audit system is built in Portugal, and commented topical issues of interaction.

The parties agreed to further strengthen cooperation.
