Minister of energy of Kazakhstan visited energy enterprises of Atyrau region

During a working trip to Atyrau region, energy Minister Nurlan Nogayev visited the objects of the regional energy system, the press service of the Ministry of energy of Kazakhstan reports.

In Atyrau thermal power station, Minister of energy was introduced to the progress of expanding the company's electric capacity. The investment project started in 2007 and was implemented in several stages. The installation of additional turbine units, boilers, and an increase in the steam load made it possible to increase the generated electric power from 215 MW to 474 MW. This is not all the work that is being done to increase the company's capacity. There are plans to install two more 60 MW turbine units. According to Nurlan Nogayev, new stations will increase the energy capacity of Atyrau region's economy. This is especially important for an energy-deficient region.

Existing gas-fired power plant was commissioned in 2016. According to experts, a new gas-piston station with flexible load capability, located in close proximity to the KEGOC substation, can also improve the stability and reliability of the entire Western power hub.
