Kazakhstan and the World Bank discussed new cooperation sectors

Alibek Kuantyrov, Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, had a meeting with the World Bank's leading experts on taxation, Developing Human Capital, infrastructure, equitable economic growth and green economy to further discuss areas of joint work.

During the meeting, Carolina Sanchez-Permo, Director for European strategy for Central Asia and Europe noted the necessity of continuing joint work of the Government of Kazakhstan and the World Bank to achieve sustainable development of Kazakhstan economy and the Central Asian region through the development of various reforms and the implementation of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route project.

Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noted that the priorities of co-operation set in the Bank's Kazakhstan Country Partnership Framework until 2025 are in accordance with the strategic direction of Kazakhstan's development until 2050.

"Following the implementation of the Country Partnership Framework, we will be able to create the necessary conditions for the development of the private sector, stimulate the transformation of agriculture, and develop the necessary infrastructure," - added Kuantyrov.

In addition, WB experts held seminars and discussions on improving tax policy, developing alternative energy and tariff policy, and achieving carbon neutrality.
