As part of the High Level Political Forum, an event entitled "Partnership for Change: Celebrating 30 Years of Combating Inequality and Promoting Digital Development in Kazakhstan" was held.

The event was attended by the head of the Kazakh delegation, Minister of National Economy Alibek Kuantyrov, Vice Minister of Labour and Social Protection Yerbol Ospanov, as well as representatives of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During his speech, Alibek Kuantyrov noted that UNDP has implemented more than 200 projects in Kazakhstan for more than $200 million.

He also highlighted that Kazakhstan is interested in further strengthening cooperation with UNDP, in particular the successful implementation of the UNDP Country Programme 2021-2025.

"We fully support this Programme, which is implemented in 4 priority areas of our country's development: addressing regional development inequalities and social vulnerability, strengthening the effectiveness of public administration and accountability of institutions, promoting economic diversification and achieving the SDGs, as well as combating climate change and natural disasters," Kuantyrov said.

He added that for the successful implementation of the Country Programme, a new predictable financing mechanism is envisaged, which should become the main instrument of public co-financing.

At the end of the event, the Ministry of Labour and Population Protection of Kazakhstan presented the flagship initiative of the partnership between Kazakhstan and UNDP - Digital Family Map - an innovative platform that helps to quickly and effectively provide state support to the most vulnerable families.
