6 administrative cases have been initiated against «Aktau tourism city ltd»

The Department of Ecology of the Mangystau region conducted an unscheduled inspection in the city of Aktau in relation to the branch of the private company "Aktau tourism city ltd" on the fact of wastewater discharge into the Caspian Sea and Lake Karakol.

The inspection confirmed the fact of wastewater discharge, thereby violating the requirements of paragraph 8 of Article 222 of the Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

To date, the company has dismantled the pipe through which the discharge of dichlorinated basin waters was carried out, work is underway to dismantle the second pipe. The work is carried out within the framework of the regulations issued by the Department of Ecology.

It should be noted that the company discharged basin waters and waters after seawater purification at a desalination plant.

At the same time, according to the results of the analysis of water samples, excess values for suspended substances, nitrates and chlorides were established. This fact is a violation of the requirements of clause 9 of Article 39 of the Ecocodex.

Since September 15, 2021, due to technical problems with the CBS, the company has not carried out biological wastewater treatment. The design decisions and the requirement of paragraph 1 of Article 393 of the Code are not complied with.

According to the results of the audit, 6 administrative cases were initiated against Aktau tourism city ltd under the articles 324, 325, 326, 328, 331, 332 The Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Administrative Offenses".

The Department of Ecology initiated a letter to the State Institution "Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management of the Mangystau region" on the issue of revocation of the previously issued permission for the Company to emit into the environment.
