It should be noted that in 2014, 1002.0 hectares of land of the RSU "Ile-Alatau State National Natural Park" were transferred to the category of reserve land of the Medeu district of Almaty for the construction of a ski resort.
In 2021, by order of the Forestry and Wildlife Committee of the MAGPR, a commission was established to consider the issue of transferring the Kokzhailau tract to the Ile-Alatau State National Park. The Commission considered the return of land legitimate in the presence of a positive conclusion of the state environmental expertise.
