About the epidemiological situation related to coronavirus  at 19.00 on March 16, 2020 in Kazakhstan

1 more cases of coronavirus were registered in Kazakhstan, in Almaty - 1 cases.

To date, 10 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Kazakhstan, 8 cases in Almaty and 2 cases in Nur-Sultan. 1536 people are in quarantine in special hospitals, 1094 people are in quarantine at home.

At the same time, monitoring of citizens arriving from China and neighboring countries continues.

A total of 2745 people were monitored overall, including 1706 people in category 1 A, 656 – in category 1 B, and 383 people – in category 2.

Out of 2745 people under the monitoring, 648 people were removed from monitoring.

As of March 16, only 2097 people remaine under monitoring.

Up to date, 132 people have been hospitalized with fever and acute respiratory viral infections, including 40 people in category 1 B; 43 people – in category 2; and 49 people - in category 3.

In accordance with the decision of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor, these patients are hospitalized in the infectious hospital according to the algorithm.

All necessary anti-epidemic measures are taken, including isolation, treatment and disinfection measures.

It should be noted that the situation is under constant control of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

About the epidemiological situation in the world

A total of 169 374 cases of coronavirus infection are registered in 157 countries in the world, including:

- 80 860 cases in China (16 new cases in last 24 hours, daily increase - 0.02%), including 3 213 fatal cases (mortality rate - 3.9%). 66 490 people (82,2%) were discharged with recovery. 10 157 patients remain hospitalized;

- а total of 88 514 cases have been registered in other countries of the world (including cruise ship), (daily increase amounted to 17,0%), including 3,302 lethal cases, (mortality rate - 3.7%).

- Italy - 24 747 cases (3590 new cases in last 24 hours, growth - 16.9%), died - 1809 (368 new deaths in last 24 hours, growth - 25.5%);
- Iran - 13 938 cases (1209 new cases in last 24 hours, growth - 0.9%), died - 724 (113 new deaths in last 24 hours, growth - 18.5%);
- South Korea – 8 162 cases (76 words new cases in last 24 hours, growth - 0.9%), died - 75 (3 new deaths in last 24 hours, growth - 4.1%).

Countries from category 1B:
- France - 5,423 cases (954 new cases in last 24 hours, growth - 21.3%), died - 127 (36 new deaths in last 24 hours, growth - 39.51%);
- Spain - 7,845 cases (1,454 new cases in last 24 hours, growth - 22.7%), died - 292 (97 new deaths in last 24 hours, growth - 49.7%);
- Germany – 5,813 cases (1214 new cases in last 24 hours, growth - 26.4%), died - 11 (2 new deaths in last 24 hours, growth - 22.2%).

Countries from category 2:
- Switzerland - 2,217 cases (842 new cases in last 24 hours, growth - 61.2%), died - 14 (1 new deaths in last 24 hours, growth – 7.6%);
- Netherlands - 1135 cases (176 new cases in last 24 hours, growth - 18.3%), died - 20 (8 new deaths in last 24 hours, growth - 66.6%);
- Great Britian – 1,391 cases (251 new cases in last 24 hours, growth - 22.0%), died - 35 (14 new deaths in last 24 hours, growth – 66.6%).

 

The Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan recalls that in order to prevent the spread of a new coronavirus infection, the following preventive measures must be adhered to:

- wash hands and face with soap often and thoroughly;

- avoid crowded places;

- avoid contact with sick people;

- in case of symptoms of cold (fever, nasal congestion, cough, sore throat), you must immediately call an ambulance from home.
