Updates on epidemiological situation on coronavirus in Kazakhstan on February 27, 2020

Kazakhstan continues to monitor citizens arriving from China and neighboring states.

Between January 6th and February 27th, 32,306 people crossed state border between Kazakhstan and China. 

Professionals from the Committee for Quality Control, Goods and Services Safety of the Ministry of Healthcare checked 32,306 people that crossed the state border with China on entry-points in international airports and railway stations between January 6 and February 27.

The Committee started to monitor 24,469 arrivals, among whom 23,980 were monitored, 24,410 were dismissed from monitoring. They still keep monitoring 59 people who had arrived within the last 14 days and 25 people who contacted with those hospitalized.

To date, 165 people with fever and flu symptoms have been hospitalized and isolated in separate boxes; 162 of them have been discharged, and 3 people remain in hospitals under medical supervision.

Also, on February 23, 2020 at 02:30 am a flight from Tokyo arrived to Nur Sultan with 20 citizens of Kazakhstan on board (including 4 passengers from the Japanese liner Diamond Princess) . All passengers were hospitalized for quarantine for medical and laboratory examinations. Their health condition is satisfactory.

Biological samples of all of the hospitalized travelers were sent to the National Science Center for Hazardous Infections in Almaty for additional check. Specialists in this center has mastered the technique for PCR-based diagnostics of the new coronavirus.

Kazakhstan has all the necessary drug and medical products for supportive therapy; prepared isolation boxes in infectious hospitals and medical workers of all level.

The situation is under constant control of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Ministry of Healthcare reminds that in order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection, we should all follow the preventive measures:

- Wash your hands and face with soap often and thoroughly;

- Use alcohol-based hand sanitizers (antiseptics);

- Avoid public places;

- Avoid contact with sick people;

 - in case of symptoms of flu (increased body temperature, nasal congestion, cough, sore throat) it is necessary to consult with medical doctor, that serves your region of residence.

Between January 6th and February 25th, 32,244 people crossed state border between Kazakhstan and China. 

Professionals from the Committee for Quality Control, Goods and Services Safety of the Ministry of Healthcare checked 32,167 people that crossed the state border with China on entry-points in international airports and railway stations between January 6 and February 25.

The Committee started to monitor 24,469 arrivals, among whom 23,979 were monitored, 24,355 were dismissed from monitoring. They still keep monitoring 114 people who had arrived within the last 14 days and 25 people who contacted with those hospitalized.

To date, 165 people with fever and flu symptoms have been hospitalized and isolated in separate boxes; 162 of them have been discharged, and 3 people remain in hospitals under medical supervision.

Between January 6th and February 25th, 32,141 people crossed state border between Kazakhstan and China. 

Professionals from the Committee for Quality Control, Goods and Services Safety of the Ministry of Healthcare checked 32,141 people that crossed the state border with China on entry-points in international airports and railway stations between January 6 and February 25.

The Committee started to monitor 24,467 arrivals, among whom 23,977 were monitored, 24,329 were dismissed from monitoring. They still keep monitoring 138 people who had arrived within the last 14 days and 36 people who contacted with those hospitalized.

To date, 165 people with fever and flu symptoms have been hospitalized and isolated in separate boxes; 158 of them have been discharged, and 7 people remain in hospitals under medical supervision.

The Committee started to monitor 24,464 arrivals, among whom 23,972 were monitored, 24,252 were dismissed from monitoring. They still keep monitoring 212 people who had arrived within the last 14 days and 78 people who contacted with those hospitalized.

To date, 165 people with fever and flu symptoms have been hospitalized and isolated in separate boxes; 158 of them have been discharged, and 7 people remain in hospitals under medical supervision.

Between January 6th and February 22th, 31,992 people crossed state border between Kazakhstan and China.  

Professionals from the Committee for Quality Control, Goods and Services Safety of the Ministry of Healthcare checked 31,936 people that crossed the state border with China on entry-points in international airports and railway stations between January 6 and February 20.

The Committee started to monitor 24,464 arrivals, among whom 23,972 were monitored, 24,200 were dismissed from monitoring. They still keep monitoring 264 people who had arrived within the last 14 days and 78 people who contacted with those hospitalized.

To date, 165 people with fever and flu symptoms have been hospitalized and isolated in separate boxes; 158 of them have been discharged, and 7 people remain in hospitals under medical supervision.

Three Kazakhstan citizens, evacuated from Wuhan, China, to the Tyumen region (Russian Federation), and five Kazakhstan’s citizens evacuated to Republic of Uzbekistan feel satisfactory. They have no signs of high body temperature, flu symptoms or complaints.

Between January 6th and February 20th, 31,915 people crossed state border between Kazakhstan and China.  

Professionals from the Committee for Quality Control, Goods and Services Safety of the Ministry of Healthcare checked 31,873 people that crossed the state border with China on entry-points in international airports and railway stations between January 6 and February 20.

The Committee started to monitor 24,462 arrivals, among whom 23,934 were monitored, 23,135 were dismissed from monitoring. They still keep monitoring 327 people who had arrived within the last 14 days and 78 people who contacted with those hospitalized.

To date, 165 people with fever and flu symptoms have been hospitalized and isolated in separate boxes; 158 of them have been discharged, and 7 people remain in hospitals under medical supervision.

Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan: people coming from countries with high burden of the coronavirus infection are subject to medical supervision

The relevant alterations have been made to the State Chief Sanitary Physician’s decree of February 17, 2020, concerning strengthening measures to prevent coronavirus infection in Kazakhstan.

Alterations to the abovementioned decree are conformed with the Interagency Commission. In particular, citizens who arrived to Kazakhstan from states that have high burden of the infection (Singapore, Japan, Thailand, South Korea, SAR Hong Kong and SAR Macau, Taiwan , PRC), will be under medical supervision at their place of residence for 24 days from the day of crossing the national border. 14 days of those, newly arrived citizens will have a daily visit by a specialist at home and the rest of 10 days - remote monitoring by a healthcare worker. If a person arrives for a lesser period of time, medical supervision will be carried out during the entire stay.

For people who have arrived from countries, where isolated cases of coronavirus infection have been reported (Malaysia, Vietnam, Germany, Australia, USA, UAE, Canada, Italy), it has been established a remote monitoring for 24 days at the place of their stay.

Travelers arriving from the People's Republic of China will be quarantined for 14 days with isolation at a hospital. 10 days after discharging, these patients will be under a remote monitoring at the place of residence.

Officials and governmental delegations, as well as holders of official and diplomatic passports, airline pilots and cabin crew members arriving from states that have high burden of the infection, will be under remote monitoring for 24 days.

Coronavirus infection continues to spread throughout the world, especially in South-East Asia.

Since January 6th, medical organizations closely supervise citizens who have arrived from People’s Republic of China at their place of residence. Monitoring included 23,801 of newly arrived civilians. 23,647 of those have been dismissed from observation. 789 travelers that arrived in the last 14 days and 165 of people who contacted with hospitalized remain under medical supervision.

As for February 20th, total of 165 patients with fever and flu symptoms admitted to hospitals. 158 have been discharged and 7 remains in hospitals. The condition of patients is satisfactory. 524 Kazakhstani citizens and foreign nationals who were in 14-day quarantine have been dismissed from observation.

To the date, no cases of the novel coronavirus infection have been reported in Kazakhstan.

With the increasing number of infected from coronavirus infection in the world, , testing and prevention measures have been established and observed in Kazakhstan, for the best interest of our citizens.

The Ministry of Health recommends permanent residents of Kazakhstan who have travelled the states that have high burden of the coronavirus infection to limit contacts and maintain home quarantine. About the epidemiological situation of novel Coronavirus 2019-nCoV in Kazakhstan as on February 6, 2020, 07.00 AM

We continue to monitor people arriving from the People’s Republic of China and neighboring countries. Starting from January 6, 30 436 people have arrived to Kazakhstan.

Committee for Quality and Safety of Goods and Services of the Ministry of Healthcare examined 21 838 people at international airports and railway stations.

To date, 110 people have been hospitalized and isolated in separate boxes with high body temperature and signs of acute respiratory viral infection. 80 people have been discharged, and 30 patients remain hospitalized in medical institutions.

For additional epidemiological control, we send samples taken from all hospitalized patients to the National Scientific Center for Highly Infectious Diseases in Almaty. Specialists in this center have studied the methodology for PCR diagnostics of a novel Coronavirus 2019-nCoV.

Kazakhstan has all the necessary drugs and medical devices for supportive care, prepared places with boxes for isolation in infectious hospitals, medical and paramedical personnel.

About the epidemiological situation of novel Coronavirus 2019-nCoV in Kazakhstan as on February 5, 2020, 07.00 AM

We continue to monitor people arriving from the People’s Republic of China and neighboring countries. Starting from January 6, 30 394 people have arrived to Kazakhstan.

Committee for Quality and Safety of Goods and Services of the Ministry of Healthcare examined 21 838 people at international airports and railway stations.

To date, 104 people have been hospitalized and isolated in separate boxes with high body temperature and signs of acute respiratory viral infection. 71 people have been discharged, and 33 patients remain hospitalized in medical institutions.

For additional epidemiological control, we send samples taken from all hospitalized patients to the National Scientific Center for Highly Infectious Diseases in Almaty. Specialists in this center have studied the methodology for PCR diagnostics of a novel Coronavirus 2019-nCoV.

Kazakhstan has all the necessary drugs and medical devices for supportive care, prepared places with boxes for isolation in infectious hospitals, medical and paramedical personnel.

About the epidemiological situation of novel Coronavirus 2019-nCoV in Kazakhstan as on February 4, 2020, 07.00 AM

We continue to monitor people arriving from the People’s Republic of China and neighboring countries. Thus, 30002 people have arrived to Kazakhstan for the period from January 6 until February 4, 2020.

Specialists of the Committee for Quality and Safety of Goods and Services of the Ministry of Healthcare examined 21439 people at the international airports of Almaty and Nur-Sultan, and 399 people at railway stations.

To date, 94 people have been hospitalized and isolated in separate boxes with a temperature and signs of acute respiratory viral infections, 61 have been discharged, 33 people remain in hospitals under medical supervision.

For additional epidemiological control, samples taken from all hospitalized patients were sent to the National Scientific Center for Highly Infectious Diseases in Almaty. Specialists in this center have studied the methodology for PCR diagnostics of a novel Coronavirus 2019-nCoV.

Kazakhstan has all the necessary drugs and medical devices for maintenance therapy, prepared places with boxes for isolation in infectious hospitals, medical and paramedical personnel.
