Production cooperative "Kurmangazy" produces products for 260 million tenge per year

The Kurmangazy production cooperative, located in the Dyngyzyl rural district of the Kurmangazy district, has the status of a breeding plant for breeding sheep of the Yedilbayev breed and a tribal Kazakh camel-breeding cooperative, the Press Service of Akimat of the Kurmangazy district reports.

The cooperative was created on the initiative of a local resident Khares Bilyashov in 1998 as a production cooperative named after Kurmangazy. Subsequently, as a result of selective breeding work, by order of the Ministry of Agriculture dated March 19, 2002, the production cooperative was assigned the status of “pedigree livestock breeding”.

Currently, the team is headed by Candidate of Agricultural Sciences Sabyrzhan Sultanov. Also, for the benefit of the villagers, the slaughterhouse of the Kurmangazy PC, located in the Dyngyzyl rural district, operates.

“As a result of the work carried out by the specialists of the cooperative together with shepherds, machine operators, cattle breeders, the number of livestock in the production cooperative for 24 years reached 12 thousand sheep, 319 camels, 120 horses. In addition, the cooperative was not limited to breeding one species of the Yedilbai sheep. Breeding of white-haired fat-tailed sheep by hybridization was carried out. So the white-haired breed of sheep "Akkarabas" appeared. As a result of many years of selection and breeding work carried out with one goal, our own white-haired species of fat-tailed sheep was bred, which is most adapted to breeding in desert and semi-desert zones and gives a fairly high level of meat and wool products,” Chairman of the Board Sabyrzhan Sultanov said.

According to him, the production cooperative annually produces an average of 240-260 million tenge of products and receives 10-12 million of net income. Veterinary events are held for twelve months, meat, shubat products are in high demand in the area. This year the cooperative received 92 lambs out of 100 queens, 52 camels out of 100 camels, 95 foals out of 100 mares. Today, the farm has 10 thousand heads of sheep of the Yedilbay breed, 310 heads of the Kazakh camel lark, 110 heads of horses.
