Workshops for the production of geotextiles and geosynthetic materials were commissioned in the city of Atyrau

Workshops for the production of geotextiles and extrusive geosynthetic materials have been commissioned in Atyrau, the Press Service of the akim of the region said.

This project is being implemented by the Kazakh-Russian joint ventures-companies "Ultrastab-Kazakhstan" "RGK-Caspi". Products of two brands will be produced. Thus, ultrastab geosynthetic textile materials are intended for use in road and hydraulic engineering, pipe laying, in the construction of warehouses, complexes, and in the construction of waste storage sites. And extrusive geosynthetic materials of the "RGK" brand can be used in the production of vehicles, are used for various needs in hydraulic engineering - drainage, creating protective and filtering layers. They can be delivered as compact skeins.

"The head of state has given specific instructions to local executive bodies to increase quality products for export, to sell local content. In this regard, planned measures are being implemented in Atyrau. A workshop for the production of geosynthetics is one of such projects. Previously, such products were purchased abroad, now we will manufacture them ourselves," the First Deputy Akim of the region Serik Aidarbekov said.

The use of these materials will make it possible to increase the service life and improve the quality of the constructed objects, as well as significantly reduce the production cost by saving the cost of building materials. The implementation of this project will become the basis for the production of high-quality geotextiles and geosynthetic materials, import substitution, the implementation of the release of petrochemical products of deeper processing, for the production of export-oriented processing materials.

"The company "Ultrastab" produces in Russia more than 40 types of geotextile materials, and the design capacity of the company "RGK" allows to produce up to 50 million square meters of materials per year. Our production capacity will also gradually increase," Azamat Asylbekov, Director of Ultrastab-Kazakhstan LLP, RGK-Caspi said.
