Deputy akim of Almaty Alisher Abdykadyrov met with an investor from Turkey Sertash Ahmet Levent, a member of the executive committee of the İskefe holding. The parties discussed a number of issues related to the construction of a plant for the production of gelatin on the territory of Almaty industrial zone.
The project of a foreign company is included in the register of participants in the industrial zone in accordance with the Protocol decision of the Regional Coordinating Council of the city of Almaty dated December 21, 2021. A land plot of 4.5 hectares has been allocated for its implementation. The investor plans to invest about 9.8 billion tenge in the construction of the plant with the creation of more than 100 permanent jobs in the future. The production capacity of the enterprise will allow to produce more than 7 thousand tons of Halal standard gelatin annually. Currently Halavet KZ LLP is carrying out the procedure of adapting design documentation to the building codes and standards of Kazakhstan. The opening of the plant is expected in 2024.
Skin of local cattle will be used as raw materials for gelatin, thus the share of Kazakhstani product will be at least 60%. As company mentioned enterprises of the food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries in Kazakhstan completely import gelatin for their products, so the plant in Almaty will fill the missing demand of domestic producers in high-quality raw materials.
