Akim of Almaty met with residents of Bostandyk district

First official meeting of akim Erbolat Dossaev with citizens of Almaty city took place in Bostandyk district. About 700 people attended the event.

“Bostandyk districts is the biggest one in our city with 365 thousand people, which is 18 percent of all Almaty population” he said at his speech.

Also, due to information given, Bostandyk region takes leading positions by social and economic data and provides 19,7 % of city employment. It gives 2 percent of city tax income and holds the 1^st place in investments attraction (during January-February of current year investment rate increased to 13,2 % and reached 42,2 billion tenge). Majority of people here, about 66,5%, work in SME-s. This year it is planned to create over 7 thousand workplaces.

However, during the meeting Erbolat Dossaev noted that despite high economical ratings, still this district has complexity of unsolved issues in housing, social infrastructure, public spaces, improvement, social support, etc., the solution of which requires an integrated and systematic approach.

To solve the problem of lack of social facilities, including shortage of places in schools, we will go on extending the existing school and construct the new ones. For this purpose, akimat plans to purchase buildings and lands from private owners.

To provide citizens with a proper medical services now we are negotiating to purchase the lands above Al-Farabi street to subsequently build a hospital there. Also, by the end of the year, we will complete the construction of a new Children's Emergency Medical Center building. It will house a modern emergency room, intensive care unit, operating and neurosurgical departments and a clinical laboratory with full medical equipment.

To support employment of people with determination, since the beginning of this year, the amount of subsidies for social jobs has been increased - from 63 thousand to 92 thousand tenge, 405 million tenge (980 vacancies) in total. To increase the accessibility of social infrastructure facilities for persons with determination, it is planned to adapt 72 objects.

Today, construction near "Mega Center", “ADK” shopping centers, in the area of former canning plant, and at the square of Satpaev - Baitursynov - Bukhar Zhyrau – Esentai river is especially intensive. In this regard, we revised the approaches to the development of territories and required mandatory construction of social infrastructure facilities.

This year, in order to develop comfort and improve the beautification of the city, within the framework of the Public Participation Budget project for the Bostandyk district, the amount of funding has been increased by 58% to 766 million tenge (483.8 million tenge in 2021). It is planned to repair kids’ and sports grounds, boulevards, school No. 10, a pedestrian zone along Timiryazev Street, watering pipelines for green areas. A major overhaul of 80-yard areas will be carried out.

Citizens also issued to return South Park to the city property, transfer the territories of gardening associations to the category of city blocks, sponsor the students’ clubs and sports sections per capita, etc.

The meeting lasted 3 hours. Akim answered more than 200 relevant questions of citizens. As a result of the meeting, he gave specific instructions, put deadlines and appointed responsible persons in charge.

According to the new format of meetings with the population, approved by the Decree of the Prezident Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, by the end of the year Erbolat Dossaev will hold 24 meetings with the population, one meeting per quarter with residents of each of 8 districts.
