New eco-friendly buses have taken to the roads of Almaty

Almaty public transportation pool has been replenished with 105 new eco-friendly and comfortable “Golden Dragon” buses running on gas fuel. Another 45 vehicles are expected to be delivered in the nearest times. This year they are planning to increase the share of environmentally friendly transport to 50%.

Low-floor, three-door buses of Euro-5 ecological class with a capacity of 90 people are equipped with air conditioning, video surveillance cameras, automatic voice announcement of stops, a driver fatigue sensor, a video recorder, a ramp for people with determination, and other options.

14 new buses were launched on route No. 44 today. The rest of the buses will be, as soon as they are renovated, launched to update and accelerate the busiest routes in the near future.

By the first half of the year, the public transportation pool will receive 300 new buses in total. The private carrier will purchase additional 250 gas buses during this year.

Today, the city akimat directs to improve the ecological situation. In this way, we are increasing the amount of environmentally friendly transport in order to improve the air quality, provide a favorable environment and health of the population, reduce bus congestion and increase passenger traffic.
