License plates of cars in Kazakhstan. The procedure for obtaining and recovery for loss

A vehicle state registration number plate (VSRNP) is a mandatory attribute of each vehicle in Kazakhstan. Since 2012, a new VSRNP model according to international standard plates has been issued. The old model plates have not been issued since then, so that the old model plates have been used along with the new ones without need to be replaced. The old model plates will be used until their full wear.

How to get a VSRNP?

To get a license plate for a car, you need contact branch of NJSC "State Corporation" Government for Citizens ".

The required documents are as follows:

1. An identity;

2. Document confirming the right to exemption from payment of taxes for persons not the taxpayers in accordance with the Tax Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

3. Vehicle registration certificate (technical passport);

4. State registration number plates, "Transit" signs and registration documents of vehicles imported into the Republic of Kazakhstan under the obligation of re-export.

5. Agreement confirming the right of ownership (agreement of transactions, written form of transactions, etc.).

The state duties are:

Fee for registration - 0.25 monthly calculation indices (MCI) (except for cases of primary vehicle registration in the Republic of Kazakhstan);

Fee for vehicle registration certificate - 1.25 MCI;

For VSRNP: For automobiles- 2.8 MCI, motorcycle and trailer - 1.4 MCI, transit - 0.35 - MCI.

If you have lost the VSRNP:

In the area of VSRNP loss you need to contact the office of lost and found service. Further, if your VSRNP was not found, then you should refer to receiving a new VSRNP to the state corporation “Government for citizens” branches with a statement written in a free form about the VSRNP loss.

The required documents are:

1. An identity card;

2. VSRNP Certificate;

3. Document confirming the payment of state duty for the issuance of VSRNP in the number of 2 units in the amount of 2.8 MCI, in the number of 1 unit - 1.4 MCI, or certifying the right of exemption from tax payment for persons who are not payers in accordance with Tax Code of the RK;

The owner of the vehicle has the right to choose the VSRNP from the existing ones in the premises of the State Corporation, as well as to order the production of high demand VSRNP with a specific digital and (or) literal designation that are not available at the moment of VSRNP.

A VSRNP list available can be accessed through information placed in the State Corporation premises. The whole VSRNP list available has been included into information systems of the State Corporation. VSRNP that is not of high demand is included into the Information Systems of State Corporation in an alphabetical order except for VSRNP issued for vehicles owned by public bodies, diplomatic representative offices, international organizations and (or) its representatives, consular institutions registered in the Republic of Kazakhstan, employees and members of their families accredited in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

At request of the vehicle owner there is a selection and reservation of VSRNP of high demand.

A vehicle, the owner of which has chosen a certain digital and (or) literal designation of high demand SVRNP, is registered after the manufacture of VSRNP.

If the vehicle is de-registered from the state register, its VSRNP will be automatically handed in as de-registered.

Handed-in SVRNP shall be scrapped unless the vehicle owner requested to store it.

The SVRNP being stored shall be maintained in accordance with national standard at request of the owner for up to a 6 months period.

Handed-in earlier for storage in accordance with national standard VSRNP at request of the vehicle owner shall be re-issued to the newly purchased vehicle.

Within a 30 calendar days expiration of the storage in the State Corporation the VSRNP shall be issued without state duty payment.

It is prohibited to issue VSRNP that were in use, including those of high demand to the vehicle owners except for vehicles of state bodies, diplomatic missions, international organizations and (or) its representations, consular offices registered in the Republic of Kazakhstan, employees and their family members accredited in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as according to the will of legal successor (heir) in case of transfer of the vehicle by inheritance, after the heir pays the state duty for cars and buses in the amount of 2.8 monthly calculation index (hereinafter - MCI), for motor vehicles and trailers - 1, 4 MCI. 

New model VSRNP

Type 1 - front and rear state registration plates of light cars of legal entities, front state registration plate of trucks and buses belonging to legal entities.

Type 1A - front and rear state registration plates of light cars of natural persons, front state registration plate of trucks and buses belonging to natural persons.

2-1. Type 1A-1 - front and rear state registration number plate "A" on cars registered to citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan in authorized bodies of the Republic of Armenia and imported to the Republic of Kazakhstan until February 1, 2020.

Type 1A-2 rear state registration plate of series "A".

Type 2 - rear state registration plate for trucks and buses belonging to legal entities, as well as for light cars of legal entities, the place of attachment of which does not correspond to the dimensions of the state registration number of Type 1.

Type 2A - rear state registration plate for trucks and buses belonging to natural persons, as well as for cars of physical persons, the place of attachment of which does not correspond to the size of the state registration number of Type 1A.

Type 3 - state registration number plate for motor vehicles (motorcycles, scooters).

Type 5 - state registration plate for trailers and semi-trailers for vehicles

Type 5A is the state registration plate for trailers and semi-trailers for vehicles, the place of attachment of which does not correspond to the dimensions of the state registration plate of Type 5.

Type 7 - state registration plate for vehicles, temporarily permitted to participate in the road traffic.

Type 1Г - front and rear state registration plate on the cars, involved in the protocol events on accompanying the delegations of foreign countries

Type 1Г - front and rear state registration plate "D" on official and personal vehicles of diplomatic and consular staff of diplomatic and consular staff of diplomatic representatives and consular institutions of foreign states, international organizations representatives equated thereto accredited in the Ministry of foreign affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Type 2Г - rear state registration plate series "D".

Type 1Г - front and rear state registration plate of the series "T" on official and personal vehicles of administrative and technical personnel of diplomatic representatives and consular institutions of foreign states, international organization representatives equated thereto accredited in the Ministry of foreign affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Type 2Г is the rear state registration plate of the series "T".

Type 3Г - state registration plates of the "D" and "T" series for official and personal motor vehicles of diplomatic and consular staff, administrative and technical personnel of diplomatic missions and consular offices of foreign states, equivalent representative offices of international organizations accredited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Republic of Kazakhstan.

Type 1Д - front and rear state registration plate of the series "НС" on official and personal cars Honorary consuls of foreign states, accredited in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Type 2Д is the rear state registration plate of the "HC" series.

Type 1Д - front and rear state registration plate "M" on cars of branches and representations of foreign legal entities in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Type 2Д is the rear state registration plate of the series "M".

Type 1Д is the front and rear state registration plate "H" on cars of legal entities with foreign participation, registered in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Type 2Д is the rear state registration plate of the "H" series

Type 5ДA - state registration plates of the series "M” for trailers and semi-trailers for vehicles of branches and representative offices of foreign legal entities registered in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the attachment point of which does not correspond to the dimensions of the state registration plate Type 5Д.";

Type 5Д is state registration plate of the series "HC" for trailers and semi-trailers for vehicles for official and personal cars of honorary consular of foreign states, accredited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan VSRNP

In June 2015, new license plates for automobile transport of Border Service of the NSC of RK were approved. In the Border Service of NSC RK explained that the background of the number plate - green - was chosen in accordance with the main color of the symbols of the Border Service is the green color - the flag of the border, the emblem of the border and a cap. An asterisk on the license plate means that the Border Service belongs to the troops of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the letters ВS mean “Border service” in English.
